About this calculator
This calculator spreads one fixed study-hour target across the time remaining before an exam. It is useful when you already know roughly how many hours of revision you want to complete and need to turn that total into a daily and weekly pace.
How to use it
- Choose the date of the exam you are preparing for.
- Enter the total number of focused study hours you want to complete before that date.
- Choose how many days per week you realistically want to study.
Study time formula
Study hours per week = total target hours ÷ weeks remaining
Study hours per day = weekly hours ÷ study days per week
If you want to complete 12 hours of revision over three weeks while studying five days each week, the target is about 4 hours per week, or roughly 48 minutes per study day.
Study Time Calculator vs Study Hours Calculator
Use this page when you have one total revision-hour target. The Study Hours Calculator starts instead with a number of subjects and a target number of hours for each subject, making it better for estimating a multi-subject workload.
Treat the result as a planning target, not a required amount of study. Adjust it for your workload, concentration, breaks and other commitments.
