About this calculator
This general percentage calculator answers the question 'what percent is this number of that number?' It is useful for marks, progress, proportions and everyday percentage calculations that do not need course-grade rules.
How to use it
- Enter the part, amount or score you have.
- Enter the whole, total or maximum value.
- Read the percentage calculated from those two values.
Percentage formula
Percentage = part ÷ whole × 100
For example, 18 out of 24 is 18 ÷ 24 × 100 = 75%.
Percentage calculator vs grade calculator
Use this page for a single part-and-whole percentage. If you need to combine several assignments into one current course grade, use the Grade Calculator instead.
