About this calculator
This calculator works backwards from your target percentage. It finds the minimum whole number of correct answers needed, then subtracts that from the number of questions on the test.
How to use it
- Enter the total number of questions on the test.
- Enter the percentage you want to score.
- See how many questions you can miss and how many must be correct.
How many can I get wrong and still pass?
Use your course's passing percentage as the target. On a 50-question test, for example, an 80% target requires 40 correct answers, so you can miss 10.
Why the calculator rounds up
You cannot answer part of a question correctly, so the required number of correct answers is rounded up to the next whole question whenever necessary.
This assumes every question is worth the same number of points and there is no penalty for wrong answers.
